Call for Papers | Feature Topic on Applied Science Innovations Toward Battery Full-lifespan for Vehicles
Power batteries are non-linear electrochemical systems, governed by a complex mixture of laws of thermodynamics, electrode kinetics, and ion transport phenomena. Thus, battery performances over their full lifespan are influenced by a variety of internal and external factors. A better understanding of battery degradation and failure mechanisms will further enable the reliable deployment of battery management systems for new energy vehicles in their whole product life cycle.
This feature topic focuses on applied science innovations toward battery full-lifespan considering the multi-length and time scales. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are welcomed. Topics of interest are around multi-scale and multi-domain battery characterization, modeling, and parameterization, including:
l Energy material preparation and scale-up, cell manufacturing, and pack design principles
l Digital twins and model-based material, cell and pack design
l Advanced characterization technologies and application, e.g., lithium plating
l Modeling of battery aging mechanism
l Multi-scale and multi-physical field modeling of batteries
l Simplification of battery modeling methods
l Integrated modeling of data-driven and behavioral mechanisms
l Thermal runaway and fault mechanism modeling of batteries
l Fusion of model, data, and artificial intelligence
