Automotive Innovation Special Issue for “Automotive Lightweight”Automotive lightweight is one of the core technologies to realize energy saving and emission reduction and to improve the safety and operating performance. Lightweight materials such as advanced high strength steels (AHSS), Al and Mg alloys, carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP) have been applied to the vehicles increasingly, and novel design concepts and manufacturing processes have been developed. It will be more important as new energy vehicles have more urgent requirements.
In this special issue, we aim to bring together original articles with significant contributions in the automotive lightweight field, which reflects the latest advances in developing and understanding lightweight materials, design of automotive lightweight structures and their manufacturing processes.
Topics:
(1) Mechanical behavior and microstructural evolution of automotive lightweight materials.
(2) Novel design and numerical analysis of automotive lightweight structures.
(3) Forming and joining processes of automotive lightweight materials.
(4) Energy & Resource efficiency, CO2-footprint and recyclability of multi-material systems.
